Best Boutique Hotels in Toronto

Toronto has a variety of beautiful boutique hotels scattered across the city. Here are my top three...
There are so many great things about the Thompson I don’t even know where to start! The rooftop lounge offers an amazing view of the city, the rooms are gorgeous, the famous diner on the main floor is open 24/7 and Wildflower nightclub is connected to the hotel. You won’t have to cab anywhere. My boyfriend and I stayed here one night we were going out downtown with friends and ended up with chicken and waffles in takeout containers beside our bed in the morning – eating in bed may have been fun, but waking up smelling like chicken wasn’t! It’s a luxury hotel, so expect the price ticket ($250-650/night). 10/10.

A close second, Hotel Le Germain is a gorgeous, modern, 167-room hotel located at the crossroads of the sports, entertainment and business districts – meaning it’s a perfect place to stay when my boyfriend has a meeting and I want to catch up with some of my girlfriends who live in the city. Right across from the ACC, Le Germain is also ideal if you’re traveling on the VIA rail – Union Station is literally steps away. The bed was super comfortable and I loved our view of the Toronto skyline. The showers are just square glass boxes, so I wouldn’t suggest staying here with family. ($250-450). 9/10.

Recently re-opening this past summer after a three-year renovation and restoration process, the historical Broadview now offers a luxury stay in Toronto’s East end. There is a beautiful lobby bar and a handful of close-by pubs and eateries. The location is a bit far from the downtown core, so unless you’re doing something in the area - I was headed to Rebel for a concert - you’re better off staying closer to King, as this hotel will set you back the same as any other boutique in the city ($260-500). 7/10.
